Ferromanganese FeMn HC
Product Description
Ferromanganese FeMn HC is an alloy based on iron and manganese with a mass fraction of 75.0% and with limited upper values of 7.0% carbon, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, obtained by silicothermal and carbonothermal reduction of oxide materials.
High-carbon ferromanganese is a lumpy material with a metallic appearance that becomes covered with a dark layer of oxides during storage. Alloyed to steel, manganese significantly affects the structure and properties of steel, improving tensile strength, machinability, toughness, hardness, and abrasion resistance. It also reacts with sulfur residues in steel to prevent surface cracking.
It is used in the metallurgical industry to deoxidize and alloy steel, alloys, cast iron, as well as in chemical and other industries.
