Ferrosilicium

Product Description

Ferrosilicium is an alloy of iron and silicon with a minimum silicon content of 8.0% and a maximum of 95.0%, obtained by reduction of oxide materials or by fusion of components.

Ferrosilicon is used in the metallurgical industry for deoxidization and alloying of steel, alloys, modification of cast iron and in the processes of obtaining ferroalloys, as well as in other branches of the metallurgical industry.

Production of heat-resistant, anticorrosive, structural, spring-elastic, and electrical steels is impossible without ferrosilicon. Ferrosilicon affects steel and provides it with the following properties:

  • Increases the grain size of the metal;
  • Increases hardenability;
  • Normalizes the annealing temperature;
  • Increases hardening;
  • Increases strength and hardness;
  • Reduces ductility.
