HOW IT IS MADE
Steel grit is obtained by crushing steel shot. Such grit has a form of irregular polyhedron. The steel grit is divided to corresponding grain sizes after process of crushing.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
Steel grit is used in devices with closed abrasive circulation such as shot blasting chambers and sandblasting chambers.
Compared to Spherical steel shot, steel grit has sharp edges and broken sections. Therefore, steel grit is used for more “aggressive kinds of treatment”.
STEEL GRIT IS APPLIED FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:
- Removal of worn paint-and-lacquer coating;
- Scale removal;
- Cleaning of heavily rusted elements;
- Preparation of pipes, beams, welded constructions before applying a protective coating or insulation;
- Notching of shafts;
- Roughening of surface for increasing of protective coat adhesion;
